I was looking for some user friendly software to upgrade existing websites to true e-commerce stores. I found X-cart and played with their demo for over a week and asked a bunch of questions before buying.
It is sophisticated enough to have all the functionality one needs to run a successful online business but doesn't require a lot of programming/database management knowledge to operate.
I am most impressed with their technical support team who are amazing competent and almost always answers my questions without going back and forth.
Highly recommended product if you have a small budget but big plan for your online store.
