EasyCart by EasyCart.com, is a simple shopping cart. The Merchant tools are very basic and reports are very limited. There is no inventory management capability, and no online order tracking.
Feature Set:
EasyCart does not have that many features. Basically EasyCart allows you to add a product to a category, add shipping and taxes. There is a good deal of flexibility available when setting shipping options. There are three global options available when the store is installed: Standard Shipping allows merchants to define up to three shipping options. For example, US Mail, Ground and International. Then, as each product is added to the store, they specify the shipping cost for each of these options. Ship by Price allows the merchant to define a sliding scale of charges determined by the purchase amount. UPS Tables automatically calculate the shipping cost based on the zip codes of the dispatch point and the customer’s delivery address.
Ease of Use:
EasyCart can create a home page for you and gives you a store search engine built in to each page. The set–up program tends to leave you stranded at various points in the process. On many occasions you are left on a page that has no links back to the main menu, the only way back is by using the back key. Easy cart is very limited with its features so it’s not very hard to navigate.
Ease of Installation:
There are three steps when setting up EasyCart. First you can customize your HTML page headers and footers. For the novice you can just keep what EasyCart has set as the defaults. Next is the creation of catalogs or categories. You specify the name and a description of each category. Once that is complete you add your products to the categories. This was really simple.
Help/Documentation:
The Help is adequate. To access Help, you need to use their website. They do not have context–sensitive help, which means wherever you are at in merchant tools, the help is specific to what you are working on. Online, there is a fully functional demo–store available to play with, a user manual, a tutorial, and a walk–through of the set up process.
Summary:
EasyCart is a very basic shopping cart. It’s fairly easy to navigate and add products. EasyCart does not offer the scalability that is vital in any E–commerce business. There are many other wonderful Shopping Cart Solutions that would be a better use of your money.
