Bigstep Pro by Affinity Internet Inc, is a good website builder with a shopping cart thrown in. It is very simple to use. However, it lacks many features that the other shopping cart solutions we reviewed offer.
Feature Set:
The Shopping cart does not have many features to list. They have basic and advanced reports. They feature some communication tools such as, newsletters, surveys, web mail, and a customer database. They also have automatic tax and shipping charge calculations. Their greatest feature is their website builder. It is very easy to use and customizable.
Ease of Use:
Bigstep Store is built for the novice in mind. You choose your template, colors, fonts, etc. and you're up and running. It is also customizable for html.
Ease of Installation:
Installation is quite simple, because they host the site for you. Bigstep offers a merchant account and credit card integration.
Help/Documentation:
Perhaps the most important attribute of good Shopping Cart software is the information and Help the application provides. The Help could be improved on. They offer Email support and phone support. They also provide FAQs, a glossary, and articles. The articles cover topics such as: how web sites work, how to plan and build your online business, how to build a professional site, search engines, and marketing.
Summary:
Bigstep Pro is a good web-building tool, but there are many other shopping carts that would be a better investment for your business. They do offer their own merchant account integration, which helps with that step of the process. The bottom line is that you can get a lot better software for just a little more money.
